Welcome to 2026! It’s a whole new year for the club. We have new leadership (Welcome Miranda L. as president and Brock H. as VP!).

Please come out and see us at Icewind Brewing on Jan. 31, 2026 from 11-2. Meet the new leadership and enjoy some brews, board games, door prizes, and more. This is a potluck, so if you can bring something to share please do! Family-friendly event. Icewind sells pop and water in addition to their locally-made craft beers. We will have the white elephant gift exchange once again, so bring a wrapped gift for each person in your group who would like to participate! Again – if you can only bring yourself that’s OK! We’d love to see you.

If you’re in the Fargo area, please join us for our monthly event, Dubs and Donuts – first Saturday of every month! It’s held at Sandy’s Donuts in West Fargo, ND and people usually arrive around 9. (No event on Sat, July 4, 2026.)

If you were at our 20th show and bought anything, participated in the auction, or otherwise spent money with the club, you helped contribute both to our club’s success AND to the nearly $2000 Miranda was able to donate on behalf of our club, to our chosen 2025 charity (4 Luv of Dog, Fargo).

Our 21st Annual VWs in the Valley will be held on July 25, 2026. Save the date!

Thanks to everyone who came out to help, show your car, or check out the awesome vehicles and activities we had! It was a hot but beautiful day as always. We had over 90s cars registered to show, and we made nearly $2000 to donate to 4 Luv of Dog. Volunteers showed up early and stayed late to help us in every way possible. Our sponsors provided support through products, services, and of course money as well! We couldn’t do it without them. Hot VWs magazine will run an article about our show in the coming months; we’ll let you know when!

We have so much in store for you at the show this year starting with the cruise and picnic on Friday night. On Saturday you can expect a fun-packed day including amazing door prizes for participants; the return of People’s Choice voting, food and ice cream vendors, and the raffle where someone will drive away in a 1973 bug at the end of the day! Our supported charity of the year, 4 Luv of Dog, is even bringing some sweet rescue dogs to meet! Be sure to click through to the show page and see all the deets! See you there!

We are continuing to work hard behind the scenes to plan for the 20th Annual VWs in the Valley. You can look forward to the return of pre-registration this year, hopefully by the beginning of April. We will also soon begin pre-sale of our raffle tickets to win a 1973 VW Bug!

In the meantime, we’ve created a simple black and white poster, printable on 8.5 x 11 paper of your choice. If you find yourself at other car shows or events this spring and summer, please consider taking some along with you to distribute, or even hang a few up at local bulletin boards! Thanks for your support!

Join us once again this year at Icewind Brewing in Mapleton ND for lunch, games, and hanging out with our VW friends. Our holiday gathering is on Saturday, January 25th from 11-2:30.

The brewery serves several craft beers and is also family-friendly and has board games, in-house brewed root beer, popcorn, and more. This event is also a potluck, so dust off that favorite recipe card!

Start hunting for those white elephant gifts, as we’ll do a swap for adults and another for kids. See you on the 25th!

We can’t wait to see everybody at VWs in the Valley on July 27, 2024 at the FM Visitors Center in Fargo. More specific details on the show are available on this page! We’ll also have a welcome picnic once again in Harwood, hosted by the Herman family. It’s a potluck, so bring something to share! Not sure how to get there? Brian will be hosting a cruise to the picnic starting around 5 from Bonanzaville. We’ll post the exact timing and the map of this event to the show page within the next week or so (and it’ll be announced on Facebook as well)

If you’re in the Fargo area on July 24, please join us at KVLY news station offices that morning around 8:30. We’ll be featured on North Dakota today, and would like to get some unique VWs in the lot for them to feature.

Lastly, if you’ve tried to buy anything lately you may have noticed that our club store was not working correctly. Brian heroically set us up a new store and we are up and running again. You can now create an account for membership reasons; we believe this will let you auto-renew your membership. You don’t have to create an account to buy merch or donate to the club however! Head over to the new store (also linked in the menu) to pre-order this year’s show shirt or buy other cool club logo gear. Gear will also be for sale (and customizable!) at the show.

Another AWESOME thing you can buy at the new store: raffle tickets! Club members Lloyd and Claudia T. donated this awesome Volkswagen Rabbit pickup tailgate bench. Buy your ticket(s) online now if you want! We will also have them for sale at the show. The drawing for this bench will take place in the afternoon at the show. You do need a way to transport the bench home from the show grounds the day of the show. We can’t leave it sitting in the lawn at the visitors’ center!

We’re gearing up for a big spring with the Red River VW Club crew! Why not get some “gear” to show your club support? Head on over to our online store to purchase long sleeve t-shirts and hoodies – fresh off the presses for 2024. We’ll have t-shirts and tank tops back again too in the future. While you’re shopping, please renew your membership for 2024! Every dollar goes into hosting events and providing activities like the ones listed below.

Holiday Party this Saturday, the 27th: Hope to see you at the club holiday gathering this Saturday, January 27! It’s at Icewind Brewing in Mapleton, ND from 11-2ish. It’s a potluck, and we will have door prizes as well as a white elephant gift exchange. See you there?

Swap Meet Saturday, May 18: We’re very excited to be offering our club’s 4th official Volkswagen swap meet! This will be on May 18, 2024 from 9-1 at Red River Motorwerks in Moorhead, MN. More details coming when it’s closer, both here and on our Facebook group.

Show Weekend – July 26-27: Our show is confirmed for July 27, 2024 at the Fargo Moorhead Visitors’ Center once again. It’ll be from 10-3. Details about this and the welcome gathering on the 26th will be posted when we have them. This will be our 19th annual show! The Fargo AirSho is the same weekend, so make a trip out of it!

Monthly Meetups!

We would also like to offer a few cruises this season if folks are interested. If you have a fun idea for a cruise in the ND/northeastern MN area please let us know! Could be to a park, a restaurant, or any other cool thing folks would enjoy. Our membership is spread far and wide, so it does not need to be in the Fargo area!

Join us in Mapleton ND at Icewind Brewing from 11:00 to 3:00 for our annual holiday party!

This was an awesome venue last year, so we’re happy to work with them again: Icewind Brewing is located at 349 Knutson St Unit B, Mapleton, ND 58059. This is a family-friendly event so bring the whole family! Potluck: Please bring a dish to share. More info on this is posted to our Facebook group. Local beer and other beverages will also be available to purchase at the restaurant.

White Elephant/Gift Exchange – bring a wrapped gift for each member of your family that would like to participate in the gift swap.

This is not an event to miss! We always have such a wonderful time enjoying delightful friends and delicious food and chatting about VWs! Hope to see you there.

Our 18th annual show was held on July 29. We had over 80 cars registered, and many, MANY people in attendance! Thank you to everyone who helped make this show a success – it was a beautiful day. Our sponsors this year:

We hope many of our membership will also attend the Missouri Valley Club‘s show in Bismarck on August 12! Several of our members also attended the Manitoba VW Club‘s Volksfest show in Winnipeg a few weeks ago; that’s another great show to get on your calendar for next year.

Stay tuned for details of coming events for the club. Join us for Dubs and Donuts at Sandy’s Donuts in West Fargo on the first Saturday of each warm month. We still have a few of those left, HOPEFULLY… We also have a virtual club meeting in mid-September – details of this are on Facebook. And our holiday gathering is coming up in January. Hopefully much more in store too!

We are getting excited for the 2023 VWs in the Valley car show to occur on July 29! Details are now available here, and we will be adding more as they come in. We will be getting room blocks at nearby hotels before mid-March, so you can call and make your reservations after that. Registration will be day-of, $10 per car. We will once again have the silent auction (benefitting Gladys Ray Shelter this year). We will have games, door prizes, food and more! Don’t miss it!
